空氣過濾器(Air Filter)是指空氣過濾裝置，一般用于潔凈車間，潔凈廠房，實驗室及潔凈室，或者用于電子機械通信設備等的防塵。有初效過濾器，中效過濾器，過濾器及亞等型號。各種型號有不同的標準和使用效能。 空氣過濾器的發展: 空氣過濾器的迅速發展是與軍事工業和電子工業的發展緊密相關的。玻璃纖維過濾介質用于空氣過濾于1940年10月在美國取得專利。50年代,美國對玻璃纖維過濾紙的生產工藝進行了深入的研究,使空氣過濾器得到了改善和發展。60年代,HEPA過濾器問世;70年代,采用微細玻璃纖維過濾紙作為過濾介質的HEPA過濾器,對013微米粒徑的粒子過濾效率高達99.9998%。八十年代以來,隨著新的測試方法的出現、使用評價的提高及對過濾性能要求的提高,發現HEPA過濾器存在著嚴重的問題,于是又產生了性能更高的ULPA過濾器。目前,各國仍在努力研究,估計不久就會出現更先進的空氣過濾器。
