皮帶輸送機又稱膠帶輸送機，輸送帶根據摩擦傳動原理而運動。皮帶輸送機的輸送線路適應性強又靈活，輸送長度根據需要而定。皮帶式輸送機具有輸送量大、結構簡單、維修方便、部件標準化等優點，廣泛應用于礦山、冶金、煤炭等行業，用來輸送松散物料或成件物品，根據輸送工藝要求，可單臺輸送，也可多臺組成或與其它輸送設備組成水平或傾斜的輸送系統，以滿足不同布置型式的作業線需要 ,適用于輸送堆積密度小于1.67/噸/立方米，易于掏取的粉狀、粒狀、小塊狀的低磨琢性物料及袋裝物料，如煤、碎石、砂、水泥、化肥、糧食等。被送物料溫度小于60℃。其機長及裝配形式可根據用戶要求確定，傳動可用電滾筒，也可用帶驅動架的驅動裝置。
皮帶輸送機主要由機架、輸送皮帶、皮帶輥筒、張緊裝置、傳動裝置等組成。機身采用鋼板連接而成 ，由前后支腿的高低差形成機架，平面呈一定角度傾斜。機架上裝有皮帶輥筒、托輥等，用于帶動和支承輸送皮帶。有減速電機驅動和電動滾筒驅動兩種方式。

皮帶輸送機根據結構形式可分為：平形皮帶輸送機和升降式皮帶輸送機。根據使用又分為:移動式和固定式。升降又分為：電機升降和手動升降。皮帶輸送機的類型主要有槽型皮帶機、平型皮帶機、爬坡皮帶機、轉彎皮帶機等多種形式，輸送帶上還可增設提升擋板、裙邊等附件，能滿足各種工藝要求。輸送機兩側配以工作臺、加裝燈架，可作為電子儀表裝配，食品包裝等裝配線。

6.便于實現運輸送系統的自動化控制。
7.輸送機應盡量安裝在通廊內。在露天場合下，驅動站應加防護罩。
8.DTⅡ型固定式帶式輸送機均按部件系列進行設計。選用時可根據工藝路線，按不同地形及工況進行選型設計，計算，組裝成套機。
